Commissions, Masterclasses and Opportunities

We have secured funding for a 3 month season of music starting from March and ending in early June. The weekly performances will stay the same, but with the support of the Arts Council we have curated an extremely exciting collection of local, national, and international artists. There will be 3 public free-to-attend masterclasses which aims to provide local musicians opportunities to further their musicianship outside of institutionalised learning environments, and we have commissioned several portrait artists to work closely with 3 artists to create new pieces. The new season will also see the arrival of the first two Spotted Dog Commissions, where 2 Jazz artists have been paired with Spoken word poets to perform alongside two community outreach groups. These two performances will be premiered at different locations across the city as well as at the Spotted Dog.

As well as this we will be providing exclusive interviews between the musicians and portrait artists, as well as the artists involved in the commissions. Keep following this blog for updates on who the commissioned artists are, as well as more updates on the 3 month season of artists.

That’s all for now,

see you on Tuesday!

Kai and Liam, Jazz At The Spotted Dog
